Driven by Science: Alnylam Named a Science Magazine Top Employer 6 Years in a Row
October 22, 2024
Transformational, world-leading science is at the heart of who we are as a company. It's that commitment to scientific excellence and leadership in our field of RNA interference which has driven our success and established our reputation as a top place for scientists to work.
Among accolades a company can earn, we believe that those that results from the voices of peers and people in our industry are the most validating, and for that reason, we are deeply honored to be recognized by Science Magazine as a Top Employer for 2024, which marks our 6th year in a row on this prestigious list.
As a science-driven company, we strive to be recognized within the scientific community as a truly great place to work. We maintain a dynamic and vibrant culture so that scientists can thrive and grow here. We aim to train them so well that everyone else wants them, but then treat them well enough that they choose to stay at Alnylam. This ongoing recognition from our peers through the Science Top Employers ranking is gratifying outside validation of what we know and feel internally.” – Kevin Fitzgerald, PhD, Chief Scientific Officer
According to Science, this year's rankings are based on over 6,400 responses from people in biotechnology, biopharmaceuticals, pharmaceuticals, and other related industries around the world. Survey respondents rated companies on attributes such as innovation, corporate image, leadership and direction, work culture/environment, and academic and intellectual challenge. Geographically, respondents came from North America (65%), Europe (19%) and Asia/Pacific Rim (11%) and rest of world (7 percent). The responses determine which of hundreds of eligible employers make the list of top 20 companies, as well as revealing the behaviors and characteristics that drove their ranking performance.
Alnylam's top characteristics for 2024 were "Innovation," "Work Culture" and "Employee Respect."
