Alnylam Named a Science Magazine Top Employer for 3rd Year in a Row
October 29, 2021
Alnylam Pharmaceuticals
The passion our people have for groundbreaking science has always been the rocket fuel that's powered our success as a company and a core reason that Alnylam has been able to pioneer an entirely new class of medicines in RNAi therapeutics. Our founders were distinguished scientists before they came together to form Alnylam in 2002 to try to harness the discovery of RNA interference to develop medicines for humans and "innovation and discovery" is one of our core values. While it's important to us to be regarded as a pioneer and scientific leader, it's especially gratifying for us to be named a Science magazine Top Employer, which we regard as a proof point that Alnylam is considered to be a great place to be a scientist.
Our inclusion on 2021 Science Top Employers List marks are third year in a row in our third year of eligibility, and also our third year in a row ranked in the top 5 companies. Alnylam's top attributes, from among five scored by Science included, “Innovative leaders in the industry”; “Treats employees with respect”; and “Is socially responsible”.
Results Science’s annual Top Employers Survey attests to our belief that to bring breakthrough medicines to patients around the world, we must always anticipate, listen, and respond to the needs of employees. We pride ourselves on a culture that values transparency and diversity of thought, just as much as innovation, and are incredibly humbled by the continued recognition of Alnylam as a special place to work,” – Kevin Fitzgerald, Ph.D., Chief Scientific Officer of Alnylam
The magazine’s annual survey, which was completed by more than 7,200 people in biotechnology, biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical, and related industries, determines the top 20 best employers, as well as reveals the behaviors and characteristics that drove their ranking performance. Survey respondents rated companies on attributes such as corporate image, leadership and direction, work culture/environment, and academic and intellectual challenge. According to Science, the 2021 global survey results were based on responses from North America (64 percent), Europe (19 percent) and the Asia/Pacific Rim (11 percent). Additionally, this year’s survey focused on how companies help employees navigate the global pandemic, and elements that empower employees for success.
